Here’s another exciting sign of the growing momentum behind electric cars! General Motors – the largest U.S. automaker – announced its aspiration to end production of all light duty diesel and gas-powered cars, trucks, SUVs and sedans in the U.S. by 2035, and will shift its entire new vehicle lineup to electric vehicles (EVs) as part of a broader plan to become fully carbon neutral by 2040.
As a part of this announcement, General Motors has shared that it will launch 30 all-electric models globally by 2025, with 2/3 of those available in the United States. These vehicles will be available at a variety of price points, providing more choice and affordable options for drivers. With this, General Motors is also focused on increasing charging infrastructure and will continue to educate the public on the many benefits of owning an EV.
