2021 is expected to be a breakout year for electric cars. Your favorite automakers have been hard at work to release new electric vehicles (EVs) for the new year that can go farther on a single charge, are more innovative and come in many new body styles that fit every lifestyle out there.
Whether you’re looking for your next family car, a car to carry you away on your next weekend adventure, or a new daily driver to get you back to work in style, there’s never been a better time to own an EV.

Hyundai KONA Electric (ON SALE NOW)
- The 2021 Hyundai KONA Electric is a reasonably priced, feature-packed subcompact crossover SUV that offers distinctive styling, a generous warranty and all-wheel drive.

Audi Q4 e-tron (Anticipated in 2021)
- The 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron is a compact four-door SUV with an exterior length of 15 feet, giving you plenty of room for your friends and family.
- Prices will reportedly start at $45,000.
Audi e-tron Sportback (ON SALE NOW)
- The 2021 Audi e-tron Sportback is the second fully electric Audi model sold in the U.S. and carries a coupe-like profile and subtle design changes from its SUV sibling.

BMW X3 xDrive30e (ON SALE NOW)

Chevrolet Bolt EUV (Coming in 2022)
- The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV – the SUV version of the brand’s popular electric CUV – is expected to go on sale next summer.
- The first non-Cadillac and first fully electric vehicle available with Super Cruise, the industry’s first true hands-free driver assistance system for compatible highways
- A distinctive design based on GM’s BEV2 dedicated EV platform

Ford Escape PHEV (Coming in 2021)
- The 2021 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) has an advanced fourth-generation hybrid technology system with a class-leading EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 100 MPGe combined.
- EPA-estimated all-electric range of 37 miles – 11 more miles than even Ford Fusion Energi
- Includes an all-new 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid engine and electronic, continuously variable transmission
- In Auto EV mode, the vehicle decides whether to run on gas or electric power

Hyundai IONIQ 5 (Coming in 2021)

- The updated 2020 Kia Niro EV gives modern hybrid technology a sleek new look, bringing the efficiency of a hybrid to a fun-to-drive compact SUV.
- Includes a permanent-magnet electric motor which produces 201-hp and 291 lb.-ft. of torque, making it a quick take off and fun to drive
- Standard DC fast charging that can add 100 miles in 30 minutes

Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring (ON SALE NOW)

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SUV (Coming in 2021)

- Expected to showcase major revisions highlighted by its completely new powertrain, as well as a host of new updates at each trim level

Volkswagen ID.4 (Coming March 2021)
